The oldest brewpub in Boston and still one of the best. The menu features elevated pub food with a New England twist. The beer is excellent. We especially enjoy the crisp Working Class Hero rye and oat saison. CBC offers plenty of hazy New England IPA's to go with their flagship American IPA, Flower Child. The Solera aged bottles are world class. Expansive outdoor patio. A fifteen minute walk from the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge.

Chef Andy Husbands is building a local barbecue empire and deservedly so. The hotel is closest to the original Kendall Square outpost, but we are almost as close to the Assembly Row addition. The ribs and burnt ends are amazing. We also enjoy the tender pulled pork and the butter crack cake dessert. Full bar, strong beer menu. Lovely roasted tofu for vegetarians. In the same complex with numerous other outstanding restaurants including Cambridge Brewing Co., State Park and Mamaleh's.

Chef Will Gilson has added star pastry chef Brian Mercury to turn the breads, desserts and brunch into can't miss events. Back after a renovation, Atwood's offers upscale pub food in a cozy neighborhood pub. We're looking forward to the return of live music as Atwood's is not only the best live music venue in East Cambridge, it's one of the best in Boston. Acts focus on Americana, bluegrass, singer songwriters and alt country. Previous ticketed shows include Jon Langford and Sarah Borges. Lovely back patio. Wonderful new spot from the chef and pastry chef behind Puritan and Co. This spectacular, modern cafe offers amazing house made pastries, coffee drinks, and sandwiches. Their take on a cinnamon roll is amazing and unique. It features delicate layers and light icing with a slight maple flavor. It's like French toast but better. Likewise, the sourdough Italian bakery style pizza is not to be missed. Housed in a beautiful new building at Cambridge Crossing and a ten minute walk from the hotel.

The second of a trio of restaurants by Will Gilson and Brian Mercury of Puritan and Co. The Lexington is a beautiful, modern space designed with an open greenhouse layout. It features one of the few roof decks in East Cambridge. A perfect lunch or after work spot. Enjoy well executed American cuisine such as steak frites, pan roasted halibut, burgers and beer battered fish tacos. A ten minute walk from the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge at Cambridge Crossing.

Skampa is our go to recommendation for quick take out or delivery. The North Shore style roast beef is arguably the best in the Boston metro area and it is a five minute walk from our hotel. We've heard the pastrami get similar raves. Beyond that, the pizza, wings and wraps are good. Even the salads impress. The lettuce is never less than perfectly crisp and the toppings are excellent. For such an unassuming little counter service spot, the food is shockingly and reliably good.

Remnant Brewing has a strong local pedigree. Started by veterans with experience at Harpoon and Lord Hobo, the beer program is lead by the former head brewer of the now sadly gone Mystic Brewing. Vast selection of hard to find German, Austrian and Czech beers. We could happily spend every night here. About a 20 min walk from the hotel just beyond the Target in Somerville. The walk isn't scenic but the destination is worth it. Same proprietors of the neighboring and also excellent T and B Pizza and Turenne Bagels.

Lamplighter Brewing Co. is now open at Cambridge Crossing, just a ten minute walk from the hotel. Amazing hyper local beer is available to enjoy inside an absolutely stunning space. Cheese and charcuterie trays are made to order to enjoy with your beer. And fresh, direct from the brewery beer is available to go. Lamplighter, along with all of the CX restaurants, is essentially at the Lechmere train stop. It's incredibly easy to make this part of a trip to or from downtown Boston.
